Club teams typically practice year-round, moving indoors when the weather isn't suitable for outdoor softball. If you're looking into a club softball experience please note that each team has a different approach to their season and players. Some teams are extremely competitive and time consuming with multiple practices and clinics each week and weekend while others more focused on player development with a more relaxed schedule and lighter commitment.
Players looking at a club team are typically encouraged to tryout and evaluate multiple teams, their coaching staff, approach and expectations for the season, and if an offer is made by the club how they expect the player to fit into their roster (e.g. do they feel you'll be a regular participant, a substitute, will you be the #1 or #2 pitcher, etc).
If you have any questions on a specific club team, how to start the process of trying out and playing for a club team, or the club experience in general, please don't hesitate to reach out to the GDYSL board. We're here to help!
